There were a lot of family friendly activities.

Why this festival? What did you just do?
A friend who works at the Licking County parks department told me what was going on. I thought I would get out and enjoy it. There is a lot going on: there is pumpkin painting, and kids can interact with tractors. I just shot a bow and arrow for the first time since high school. I got in the red part; so, I think that is pretty good. They have a carriage ride going around. It’s a nice chance to get outside.
Anything else?
Free opportunities like this are a rare find and fun to do.

I talked to Jennie Kinsley, who was playing the dulcimer, at the Harvest Moon Festival.
My take on Harvest Moon Festival 2018:
I didn’t realize that this festival was over at 4:00pm. The hours were noon to 4:00pm. (I didn’t arrive until about 3:15 pm). MapQuest said it would take 22 minutes from my house. That was a LONG 22 minutes. I felt like I was on 70 forever, and the exit street forever. It took longer for me to get there than I anticipated; but, it was a straight shot. People were friendly. There was a lot to do. I tried to see as much as I could in the short amount of time that I was there. The children seemed to really enjoy petting the animals and jumping in the bounce houses.
This festival has a relational vibe. It is very kid and family friendly.
I just happened to wear my hiking boots because they matched the sweat shirt that I wore. I would suggest that you wear boots or hiking boots because the parking and the festival is on grass. If it rains, there might be a little mud involved.
