Out of all the things you could be doing with your time, why play basketball?

My family is full of athletes. My father, Michael Brownlee, played overseas with coach Jermaine. They played a couple of years together. My mom was a D1 (Division 1) volleyball player at Eastern Michigan. In high school, she played basketball. My sister runs track, plays volleyball, and basketball. It runs in the family.

You mentioned you are a transfer student/athlete. Tell me about the process of transferring schools and compare and contrast the basketball philosophies of each school.

The transfer was easy because last year I was injured. I had a foot fracture. This program has more open communication. We can ask questions. Afrocentric is stricter. They are known for consecutive state championships. At South, we are brand new. We have two Ohio State commits. I would like for us to keep it going.

Activities/Hobbies?

I am a basketball D1 recruit, and a volleyball D1 recruit. In the off season I play basketball and I play volleyball on two different club teams.

Anything else?

Don’t underestimate Westerville South. It doesn’t matter that we might be under sized. We will be winning. Period.
