Arnold Sports Festival 2022: Indoor Highland Games Women’s Open

I have completed previous blog posts on a few of the individuals who competed in the Women’s Open Indoor Highland Games at the Arnold Sports Festival. I was amazed at how supportive and connected this group appeared to be. Before and after each competitor, it appeared that group members cheered for them and genuinely wanted them to succeed. To quote Heather Haddock, “we want to beat you on your best day. We want everyone to do their best. We are really friendly. The jerks get weeded out. You gotta be a good person to be in this crowd.”

After the competition, the competitors were presented with awards.

When I approached them for a group picture, they suggested we walk back to where Jamesia Sanou was sitting after being injured earlier in the competition, so she could be in the picture.
