My favorite song of the sing along is the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah.
It’s the picture where there is a woman in a red dress dancing in a juke joint where all these guys are watching her as she is dancing by herself. That was based off the work of an artist named Keb-mo. He is a delta blues singer. The song is called “She Just Loves to Dance”. The painting came to be as I listened to that song repeatedly.
I really must pay homage to those who came before me. That is the reason I was excited to participate in this event today. It is a way to honor all those writers and poets in the Harlem Renaissance.

Over the years, you build friendship with the people who come here. We have competitions, shooting, knife, and rifle; but mostly comradery. I enjoy history and keeping the old ways alive.
It is the precursor of the piano and the harpsichord. Someone said the dulcimer is a piano on standard transmission. You don’t have the keys. You are hitting directly on the piano wires with the hammers.
Why chalk art?

We are partnered with Coffee Crafters. They do great work in the prison system training people to become baristas (a person who is trained to make coffee specialty drinks).
There is no way you can see everything the fair has to offer in one day. The Ohio State Fair is what you make it.
The course consists of nine obstacles: tire run and flip, tunnel crawl, cargo climb, balance beam, belly crawl, monkey bars, over under log jumps (the intent is to jump over one log that is a few feet tall then go under the next log and so on), wall climb, and log run.
The murals are a way for different communities to come together, paint, and have a good time. We usually partner with a local volunteer organization or company and are always welcoming new faces to paint and be part of our family!
