I talked to Artist Said Lawal at the Easton Art Affair 2019.

Tell me about your art.

I paint with acrylic and canvas for the most part. I also use oil once in a while. I am working with the theme of music. My goal is for you to look at the painting and sort of hear the music and feel the rhythm and vibe. If you look closely, you will see a lot of musical and dance themes. For example, cello players and bassists.

Tell me about your background.

I have been painting since 1988. That was my first year in college in Nigeria. I attended Yaba College of Technology studying fine art majoring in painting. In the US, I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburg and did a Bachelor of Arts in graphics design.
